Local teenager Ashutosh Padhy bagged an unprecedented five titles, while Siddharth Sen of Cuttack won the remaining one in the Falcon 20th Odisha State Billiards & Snooker Championship, which concluded here at Cue Sport Academy here today.
Three-time National sub-junior champion Ashutosh created a record by winning five out of six titles in the 10-day-long state championship. He emerged champion sub-junior, junior, seniorĀ billiards and sub-junior, junior snooker categories.
Siddharth regained the senior snooker crown after a gap of seven years, outplaying local challenger Rakesh Roshan Pradhan by 6-2 frames in the final. This was the fifth senior snooker title for Sen, who had claimed his last one in 2006.
Billiards & Snooker Association of Odisha secretary Srimoy Kar handed over the trophies at the closing function. Champion and runner-up in all six categories qualified to represent the state in the National Billiards and Snooker Championship, scheduled to be held next month at Lucknow (UP).

Sub-junior billiards: Quarterfinals: Noman Salat bt KP Naik 110-42, Sahil Arora bt Ashish Sharma 172-76, Piyush Sharma bt BK Naik 111-49. Semifinals: N Salat bt S Arora 110-87, Ashutosh Padhy bt P Sharma 328-86. Final: A Padhy bt N Salat 298-76.
